Objective of the measure

To make the approach to the phenomenon of pathological gambling even more effective by enhancing pathological gambling prevention initiatives in schools, workplace and local community settings and by implementing opportunities for the early diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of gambling disorders, also through residential experiences.

 

Eligibility

The actions to combat pathological gambling aim to respond to the needs of affected youths and adults and their families.

 

Type and characteristics of the assistance

The measure offers support to individuals addicted to gambling through the treatment deemed most suitable by the services responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of pathological gambling, including accredited public and private outpatient addiction services (SerD/SMI), and residential and semi-residential services (“Therapeutic Communities”).

 

How to use the assistance

The Addiction Services are offered for free and you can make an appointment by phone or email, without the need for referral by your general medical practitioner.

Maximum confidentiality is guaranteed, in full compliance with privacy regulations, and, if you prefer, you may request anonymity.
